Arnotts Park, Girl Guides Hall and Bills Boyce Park taken from the community. 

It has been revealed that the State Government has told Strathfield that it will be acquiring three properties in the area as part of the construction of WestConnex.

Bills Boyce Reserve in Homebush will be acquired on a lease arrangement until 2019 and he Girl Guide Hall at 53 Ismay Avenue, which is currently being used by the Strathfield Girl Guides will be taken over permanently by the WestConnex Authority.

The Arnotts Park, which Strathfield Council fought for a decade for, will also be acquired by the WestConnex Delivery Authority until 2019.

Route for roads announced, but Strathfield loses its new reserve

The State Government is to take over the land at Arnotts Reserve for a WestConnex Depot, Strathfield MP Jodi McKay has confirmed.

And a team from WestConnex began door-knocking homes to tell families their properties were being acquired.

She revealed exclusively to the Scene that the WestConnex Delivery Authority will be using Arnott’s Park for the construction of the billion dollar infrastructure project.

Cr Daniel Bott anounces bid for Labor's Strathfield ticket, signalling a battle with Burwood mayor John Faker 

Strathfield’s Mayor Daniel Bott, has announced he will make a bid to stand for the State seat of Strathfield as Labor candidate – immediately sparking speculation that two neighbouring mayors will battle it out for the same party ticket.

In an exclusive statement to the Strathfield Scene last night, Mr Bott finally confirmed his intention to run in any pre-selection for the seat of Strathfield.
